PRAY FOR SNOW!

Friends

This weekend we took the long journey up to Logan to visit our friends Kylie and Spencer Booth.  We drove up after work on Friday and we went straight to the USU basketball game.  It was a lot of fun and kind of funny, those USU fans are brutal, the other team wasn't very good and a couple players shot air balls, so the crowd yelled "air ball" every time that player touched the ball.  It was a good game, but USU needs to do something about the ticket sale price, it was 17 dollars a ticket, what a rip off!
After the game we went back to the house and we played some games until about midnight, then we went on a search for a mattress.  Actually, Spencer's dad owns an old house up in Logan that no one has lived in for a long time and they knew that there was a small mattress inside, the only problem was finding a way to get it.  Spencer ended up being able to get a basement bathroom window open and shimmying in. We got the mattress out, put it on the roof and headed for home.  It was only a twin size, but Heather and I both actually slept very comfortably on it.
Saturday was spent being lazy, eating a great big breakfast of french toast and pancakes, with bacon and eggs, movies including X Men and After Sunset.  In the afternoon we went and played tennis, it was the first time for Heather and I haven't played since I took a class when I was around eight, it was a little interesting but we got the basics down and we had a good time.  That night we had some good pizza, and Kylie taught us how to crochet beanies. We woke up Sunday morning, went to church, put some air in the tires at the gas station and headed for home.
Thanks Booths, we really had fun and hope to play with you guys again soon!

Bring on the Ski Season!

So last night we decided to take a drive up the canyon to see how much snow had fallen, and to just get out of the house for a while. We made it up to Alta and got out of the car and started running around, kicking some of the newly fallen snow around, and having some fun with the camera. We can't wait until all the resorts open, and we hope that much more snow falls so that we can have a great ski season.

My husband is the best...

Saturday night we had to come home so I could prepare a lesson for Sunday, so Josh went and ran some errands for me since I was busy. He came home and surprised me with this beautiful bouquet of hot pink roses just to tell me he loved  me! I think you too would have to agree he is quite amazing. Thanks, Joshua! I love you!

My First Crock-pot Dinner!

We were lucky enough to get a huge crock-pot for our wedding, and with the cooler weather I've been so excited to start using it! So today was our first try at Crock-pot cooking. I made Cowboy Chili, the tastiest, easiest chili ever! I can't take credit for the recipe, it came from our friends, the Powis'. But it turned out to be a success--we loved it!

And to accompany the delicious chili, I made scrumptious cornmeal muffins. Cold weather and warm food is the best! =)

Let it Snow!!!

Josh and I were so excited for the snow!! With new ski gear and a ski pass, we can hardly wait to start the ski season. Snowbird opened this weekend with it's second earliest opening ever. Happiness!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

This Halloween Josh and I spent the whole month celebrating. We decorated our apartment with pumpkins and witches, carved pumpkins into Jack-o-lanterns twice, decorated cupcakes to look like spiders, made delicious caramel popcorn, and dressed up like Thing 1 and Thing 2 for the annual Hanks Halloween Party! To say the least, it was a blast! I love Halloween!

These were our first set of pumpkins You can't see it too well, but Josh's pumpkin is two creepy hands coming at you with glaring eyes. And mine is a pumpkin that looks like he's going to eat you. Haha!

We carved pumpkins again on Halloween Eve with our good friends Shawn and Melissa (they did the above jack-o-lantern) and Chase and Amanda! Party it up!

These are the spider cupcakes...I also made some with black licorice for legs, but the green legs looked a lot cooler and tasted infinitely better

At work some of us dressed up for Halloween. My cute nieces (Sharpe from High School Musical and Tinkerbell) came around trick-or-treating at the office too! I gave them full size candy and I was easily the coolest aunt ever.

We had a Halloween Potluck at work too...I made the nummy caramel popcorn and brought a delicious drink with floating hands!
