Excuses Excuses

Ok, so I know I haven't done very well at phlogging, it has been almost a week I think since my last post, but I can explain. First of all my camera batteries died, you know have if you let them sit for a while you can take another picture, I did that for a while and now I can't even turn it on. Then last weekend we weren't at home much, we were out ski shopping! I wasn't looking to buy skis becuase I was going to buy a pair online I wanted, but I found a sic deal on a pain of Line blend skis. It was at a small ski shop named Autumn Garage, they are last years model and they wanted to move them out, so I took them. Then Tuesday night was the U of U Freeskier Society club night at the sports den and I got a deal on some new Salomon STH16 bindings. So needless to say, I can't wait till it snows! Yesterday I skipped work and studied all day long in the library for a math midterm last night, then I ran to Heather's family halloween party, we were thing one and thing two. Then I had a midterm in my spanish class, and then a paper due in my writing class today, so the past few days have been a little hectic.
So Also last Friday night we went down to Sundance and we saw the premier to the Matchstick Productions Claim ski movie. It was awesome! Here is the link if you want to see the teaser for the movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8WH2LBmCa4. I really liked it becuase it had some views of skiers in the air and stuff I had never seen, the filming was awesome the colors were bright and the skiing was amazing. I also liked it becuase it was a good mix of big mountain shoots, cliffs and stuff, with big air freestyle jumps and stuff. Then the next day I got my skis, and some new Smith Prodigy goggles. Then I just got my bindings, so I can't thing of anything but skiing this winter.

My new skis.
My bindings.

Ok, so here is todays new photo. I had a little fun with my parents digital slr and this is my favorite of they day.

Well, so I failed on day two of my phlogging. Yesterday I went to class in the morning, then I went to work and came home and showered, ran out the door to school and took a quiz in my math class, then went to Tower Theater on 9th and 9th. My good buddy Matt and his brothers and a friend made an awesome scary halloween movie and it was the showing last night, it was great, Matt made t shirts and they look awesome. So none the less it was a very busy day, then I got home late and the internet was down, so that is my excuse. So I will post two today, one now and one later. This one is of me working down by Thanksgiving Point yesterday.

Phlogging

So Heather's cousin's husband Jake Spurlock, was telling me about this thing he and his brother started doing they call phlogging. Jake are his brother are great photographers and to force themselves to take the time each day to take a few shots they are posting a picture everyday on their websites. (They are pretty sweet check them out, jakespurlock.com or thenickspurlock.com) So I thought I would join in the fun with them, so here is the first a many to come.

I took this yesterday while I was working. It was on the edge of a plant nursery out on the west side by the dump. Its kind of funny, a dead tree at a plant nursery.

So this past Saturday was a good one. That morning I went up to Park City with Brad, Trent and his little brother, aka boy, we were on trip to hit some dirt jumps on our bikes. Driving up Parleys was crazy, it was snowing and at the top of the canyon people going down were slipping and sliding. We got to the jump site and it was pretty sweet, there was a little snow on the ground but we decided to ride anyway.

I took this pic of Brad going off the biggest double there. It was a ton of fun, I crashed on my bike a couple of times, and then Brad let me try using his bike. It was amazing the difference it made, his bike was made for going of jumps, and I felt way more comfortable going off the biggest jumps I have ever done in my life. While I was up in Park City Heather did a little shopping and the went with her sister to a relief society learn how to knit activity. She is working on a bright red scarf now a days.
When I got back we met at her parents house and we headed down to Provo to go to the BYU vs. New Mexico game. It was pretty cold, but Heather was bundled up in like three layers and then her snow clothes so she was pretty warm. The game was actually a pretty boring game to watch, it only lasted just over 2 and 1/2 hours, which is pretty short for a football game. The highlight of the experience was a new treat we found called a cougar tail. It was a two foot long maple bar, delicious!
