Bogus aint so bogus

The weekend after Valentines Day, Josh and I drove up to Eagle, ID to visit my good friend, and fellow ski bum ,Kylie for the weekend. It was a blast! We drove up Friday night after work, stopped in Burley with my hand over my heart, and then arrived in Eagle about 9:30pm after a slight detour in the wrong direction.

Saturday we skied to our hearts content from 11am to about 8pm at Bogus Basin. It snowed all morning in the mountains so it made for a great afternoon and evening of some fresh powder! Happiness! Then when we couldn't ski any more (either due to a lack of light and/or aching bodies) we headed home for hot showers and then to dinner at Red Robin for their absolutely delicious fries and other dishes. We completed the night with a giant bowl of home-made carmel popcorn (a roommate favorite when Kylie and I lived together) and the Olympics. A perfect day! We laughed so much and had so much fun. Thanks Kylie for being such a great host, guide, and friend! We can't wait to see 'n ski with you again!

The weekend ended much too soon and we had to return home. But before we left Eagle, we stopped by at Josh's aunt and uncle's house in Eagle for a visit. I learned the great game of Shuffle Board and ate the biggest steak I have ever seen in my entire life! Uncle Grant and Aunt Katherine have the coolest yard: a patio with a fireplace, a pasture to raise cows for butchering, a giant garden full of fruit trees and boxes for all kinds of veggies, and a barn for 22 chickens who give them fresh eggs daily! The perfect mix between city and farm. Loved it!

After feeding us delicious steak and potatoes, they generously gave us meat galore, 2 dozen fresh eggs, homemade salsa, homemade spaghetti sauce, dried tomatoes, dried peppers, and frozen peaches. We feel very spoiled (BTW, all of it has been superbly tasty!). It was great to spend some time with Grant and Katherine. I've only seen them two other times since Josh and I got married and they are wonderful people. I feel so blessed to have married into a family of such wonderful people.

So it was a great weekend! We loved Eagle and hope to visit again soon!
