A couple weeks ago Josh and I went with some friends (Muellers, Bradly and friend Liz, and Buck) to the amazing Banff Film Festival at the UofU. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but when it started, I thought "Of course! What kind of film festival did I think these guys would go to?" There were about 7 or so different short films ranging from 5 to 45 ish minutes long featuring super adventureous activites. There was one about a lady who rowed across the Atlantic Ocean by herself, another about a insanely good rock climber, kayakers who kayaked some crazy dangerous rivers in Africa with hippos and allegators etc, etc, etc. My favorite was of the Bri'ish dude who rode a tandem bike (yes, a tandem) from Alaska down to the southern tip of Agentina. All of the movies were incredibly inspiring and entertaining.
Well, at this lovely film festival they had a raffle drawing for some free stuff. Josh tends to get pretty lucky at these drawings and this time it was my turn to win! I won a book called "Three Cups of Tea." I've heard the name and after reading a summary about it, I am completely stoked to read it! It also comes very highly recommended from the people I know who have read it. I just had to revel in the victorious feeling of winning something, especially something of worth.
